From The Principal’s Desk

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

Zion Lutheran School was established in 1883 by Zion Lutheran Church to educate the children of her congregation and community. That’s 123 years of reading, writing, and arithmetic! But of far more significance is the fact that Zion Lutheran School has been telling children about the good news of Jesus Christ for 123 years! Every day that school is in session children here have had, and continue to have, the opportunity to hear about Jesus, read the Bible, pray, and grow in their faith. That’s what sets us apart from our public school counterparts.

Change is inevitable and all around us. Through the years the buildings, the programs, the curriculum, and our size has changed, but the message has never changed. It does not need to be improved upon and is ageless because it is the sweetest story ever told – of Jesus and His great love for us.

Zion Lutheran School strives to provide a quality education to all of our students that help them to be successful citizens in our world. However, our primary objective is to help our parents get our Father’s children home to Him. Our heavenly Father has entrusted us with His precious children and He wants us to make sure that each and every one gets back home to Him. So our main purpose should be doing just that – helping His children learn about Him. It should be more important than any math lesson taught, any sports event won, or any award achieved.

So how do we achieve this goal? Simply by teaching the faith, reaching out with the Gospel, uplifting each other through Christian fellowship, caring for each others needs, and honoring God through worship.

As we begin a new school year, our prayer is that God would bless our school and all whose lives are touched by it so that all of His precious children reach home safely!
